Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 22, 2026
SF Movie Club ("we", "us") is a small neighborhood movie club app for friends in San Francisco. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what choices you have. In plain language — no dark patterns.
What we collect
- Account info: email address, optional display name and avatar.
- Activity: the movies you vote on, your availability, group memberships, and seat confirmations.
- Auth metadata: session tokens stored in your browser so you stay signed in.
- Google OAuth profile (if you sign in with Google): name, email, profile picture.
How we use it
- Running the club: showing votes, availability, and showtimes to your group.
- Sending notifications you've opted into (weekly digest, friend availability, confirmed seats).
- Keeping accounts secure and preventing abuse.
We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party ad trackers.
Where it's stored
Account data and activity are stored in our managed backend (Lovable Cloud, powered by Supabase), hosted in the United States. Email delivery is handled by a transactional email provider.
Notifications & email
Email notifications are scoped per club. You can turn each notification type off at any time from your profile settings — preferences are stored per group so you stay in control.
Cookies & storage
We use browser local storage for your auth session. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can view, export, or delete your account data at any time by emailing us. We'll honor deletion requests within 30 days, except where we're required to retain records by law.
Children
SF Movie Club is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we materially change this policy, we'll update the date above and notify active members by email.
